Abstract Submission Guidelines

All abstracts must be submitted during the registration process using the registration form. The deadline for abstract submission is September 19, 2014 (see Important Dates). You can submit only one abstract for either an oral or poster presentation. Please, adhere to the following recommendations when you submit your abstract. The Scientific Organizing Committee will not review abstracts that do not follow the specified guidelines.

  • Abstracts must be written in English.
  • Abstracts should be original work.
  • An abstract must be submitted by the presenting author.
  • Abstracts must not exceed a maximum of 250 words.
  • Abstracts should not contain figures or tables.
  • All abbreviations must be spelled out when initially used.

Additional Information



The biography submitted along with an abstract should not exceed 150 words. Please, state clearly your current position.

If you want to make changes to your abstract after the submission, please contact the Scientific Organizing Committee at soc_target@astro.rug.nl

Authors will be notified of the outcome of the review process about a month after the abstract submission.

If the Scientific Organizing Committee receives a large number of abstract submission for oral presentations, the committee may offer the presenting author a poster presentation.

Poster presenters will be invited to present a speed talk of 3 minutes during an oral session.

If an abstract has been accepted but the presenting author is unable to attend the conference you should notify the Scientific Organizing Committee as soon as possible. Please, read our Cancellation Policy carefully. If a co-author is available to present a co-author can substitute him/her at the conference.

All accepted abstracts will be available on the conference website and included in the conference book.
